New Wilmington Borough owns and operates all its utility services. The Borough owns all the distribution lines and infrastructure for electric, water and sewer. Until the fall of 2008, the Borough owned its own Cable TV system, which was installed in 1979 at a savings of $60,000.00. The basic cost of cable at that time was $6.00 per month for supplied stations. In June 1996, the basic cost was raised to $12.00 per month for 33 stations-still quite a bargain! In April 2003 the Borough began rebuilding the cable system to include 57 channels, a community channel and tele-guide. The basic charge for cable at this time is $29.99. Also along with the cable upgrade, high-speed Internet is also being offered at a minimum charge of $39.99. In the fall of 2008, the cable system was sold to Armstrong Cable.
Electricity is purchased from Amp Ohio for redistribution by the Borough. Meters are read on the 15th of each month. Service may be disconnected for non-payment, with a charge for reconnection. There is a $5.00 charge for electric transfer. Call the Borough Office at 724-946-8167 .
Water is purchased from Aqua Pennsylvania Water Company for redistribution by the Borough. Operation and control are shared by the Borough and the New Wilmington Municipal Authority. Billing is monthly. Penalty and connection procedures are the same as the Electric Department. There is a $10.00 charge for water transfer. For help call the Borough Office at 724-946-8167.
