Very cold weather is forecasted in the near future.  Please check on any elderly neighbors during this time and bring pets inside if there is not adequate shelter for them outside.  Be mindful of fire hazards if using portable heaters and generators, and heed manufacturer’s instructions/warnings to avoid carbon monoxide poisoning.  Older car batteries tend to die during really cold weather, so have an emergency kit in your vehicle just in case.  Make sure children are dressed for the cold too with heavy coats, gloves and hats.  Monitor your local weather for daily details.
