December 1st Street Closures

The New Wilmington Borough’s Christmas parade will begin at 5:30 p.m. Friday and cause restrictions on downtown streets.

All main roads (including Routes 158, 208 and 956), side streets and alleys that intersect with the parade route will be closed to vehicle traffic during the parade.

Car and light truck traffic can find alternate routes using various sides streets. Medium to large truck traffic must use alternate bypass routes around the borough during the parade.

The parade will form in the lots outside of Wilmington’s high and elementary schools and proceed south on North New Castle Street, east on Neshannock Avenue (Route 208), south on Mercer Street, west on Maple Street, north on South Market Street, west on Neshannock Avenue, north on New Castle Street before returning to the school.

The borough police department requests all motorists traveling in the borough during this time to be mindful of and patient with temporary traffic pattern changes and be extra careful of pedestrians.
